Meet Rima Riedel
Author & Artist
Rima has performed and taught for over thirty years. She earned a B.A. and an M.A. in Theater Arts, and an M.A. in Therapeutic Recreational Services. Rima is certified in English, History, Special Education, Theater Arts, and A Matter of Balance.
Rima has been published in Scholastic Scope Magazine for youth, and the mystery anthology, Noir at the Salad Bar: Culinary Tales with a Bite, published in 2017 by Level Best Books.
In September 2021, she published her debut novel, Shimmy Shimmy Homicide: A Belly-Daning Boomer Mystery, available in soft cover and e-book formats, and is working on the second in the series. She is debuting Poetic Justice: The Poe Files, the first in another mystery series.
She was Creative Director of a unique grant-funded theater troupe, sponsored by Manchester Department of Youth Services, called Manchester Youth-Senior Troupe. In her capacity as Creative Director, Rima authored over ten plays and a wide variety of skits, with an emphasis on contemporary issues.
Because of her ongoing work with people of all ages, backgrounds, an abilities, Rima was inducted into the Manchester Artists Hall of Fame an received the "Friend of Youth" award for the Eastern Region of CYSA.
